  • DFI 3.1 and JEDEC LPDDR3 standards compliant
  • Silicon proven design

Cost-effective

  • Supports package-on-package and discrete packaging types
  • Includes LabStation™ software environment for bring-up, characterization, and validation in end-user application

The R+ LPDDR3 is a complete memory solution which includes both a controller and a DRAM interface that conform to DFI and JEDEC standards. Capable of reducing active memory system power by up to 25% and active DRAM power by up to 30%, R+ LPDDR3 enables a significantly improved thermal profile and an increased battery life in the end device. By improving the thermal profile, systems are able to run the memory system at peak bandwidth for longer periods of time which translates to better overall performance in the end systems. The improvement in power is a result of Near Ground Signaling (NGS), a single-ended, ground-terminated signaling technology that has a signal swing of less than 300 millivolts versus the 1.2 volt swing of LPDDR3. This allows devices to achieve higher data rates with significantly reduced IO power. By supporting both NGS and current High Speed Unterminated Logic (HSUL) signaling, R+ LPDDR3 maintains compatibility with LPDDR2 and LPDDR3 signaling.

In addition, the R+ LPDDR3 architecture supports data rates from 1600 to 3200 megabits per second (Mbps). This improved performance enables enhanced mobile device functionality for streaming HD video, gaming and data-intensive apps, making it ideal for next-generation smartphones, tablets, ultra-thin notebooks. The R+ LPDDR3 memory controller and DRAM interface solutions are currently available.
