Dateiname: Memory Technology Innovations for Mobile Platforms
As the application demands of mobile consumer platforms increase, the performance of the underlying memory subsystems becomes increasingly important. However, the memory system performance must be increased without burdening the power, form factor and cost of the overall system. Rambus has developed a number of key technology ingredients to address this problem as part of its Mobile Memory Initiative (MMI). This talk will focus on how these technologies address the issues of scalability, power efficiency, power state exit latency, clock recovery, signal integrity, and low cost packaging. This process has produced a memory architecture that is optimized for the unique demands of the mobile environment.
Presenter: Fred Ware, Technical Director, Rambus
Fred Ware is a Technical Director at Rambus Inc., one of the world's premier technology licensing companies specializing in the invention and design of high-speed chip interfaces. Fred joined Rambus in 1990 to focus on the design of high performance memory components and controllers. Prior to joining Rambus Fred worked at Hewlett-Packard and Weitek Corporation on integrated processing components that included microprocessors, numeric co-processors, graphics processors, and embedded control processors. Fred Ware received a B.S. degree in Applied Physics with honors from the California Institute of Technology, and an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
