In order to further capitalize on existing implementations in the Asia Pacific region, Bell ID has become a member of the Asia Pacific Smart Card Association (APSCA) this week.
By joining APSCA, Bell ID will be able serve smart card markets in Asia even more effectively. APSCA, a non-profit and independent association, offers guidance to organizations in the smart card industry that are active in the Asia Pacific region.
The ANDiS platform, Bell ID’s market leading smart card management solution, is already extensively deployed in North American and European markets. By becoming a member of APSCA, Bell ID can build on existing references in Korea and Macau and further deploy its products in the Asian market.
Martin Cox, Commercial Director at Bell ID, commented: “The continuing growth in contactless payments, mass deployment of EMV chip cards and the emerging opportunities in mobile payments in the Asian markets offer vast opportunities for Bell ID. We are therefore excited to have joined the APSCA network as this will enable us to strengthen our position in these markets.”
Greg Pote, Chairman of APSCA, added: “As the largest and fastest-growing market for smart cards with a track record of innovative card products, Asia represents excellent opportunities for Bell ID’s smart card management solutions. We are delighted to welcome Bell ID as a member and look forward to working with Martin and his team to expand their business across the region.”
The first APSCA event that Bell ID will attend will be the 7th EID government forum in Dubai in January 2009, where the Bell ID team will be present to discuss the ANDiS solution for large scale secure identity management projects. This solution has been implemented in multiple National ID and Government health card schemes globally and manages many millions of complex multi-application smart cards, applications and cryptographic keys.
