This month, Bell ID celebrates its 20th anniversary as a leader in token management for smart chips, applications, tokens and cryptographic keys.
With one of the industry’s largest teams focused exclusively on the management of tokens, Bell ID has been successful in assisting financial institutions, governments, and corporations worldwide in the complex issuance and management of millions of smart cards and applications on mobile devices. Pat Curran, Executive Chairman of Bell ID, comments: “Innovation has been central to our ethos. A recent example is the launch of our Secure Element in the Cloud solution this year, with which we aim to contribute to the further acceleration of mobile payments worldwide.”
Bell ID was established in 1993, initially providing ID chip card solutions to governments and enterprises in the Benelux region. In the early 2000s, the company expanded its offering to support the issuance and management of EMV payment chip cards globally. Now, as mobile devices are increasingly capable of replacing plastic cards, Bell ID’s solutions are used by organizations around the world to provision and manage mobile applications on NFC-enabled handsets across numerous markets. In 2012, Bell ID acquired transit software company Ecebs to strengthen its technology offering for the transport market.
