Rambus has spent the better part of the last two years evolving as a company. Having started with Rambus in January 2012, I can personally attest to how this evolution has positively impacted our culture, mindset, and strategy. Our external focus and the level of collaboration with both customers and industry peers has increased exponentially since I joined.
One of the cornerstone events of this corporate evolution is the recent formation of the Rambus Partner Program. This program is geared to identify, assemble, and enable our resources to collaborate with partners in a synergistic manner to increase the value we provide to customers. Our partnerships combine our core competencies in high-speed interface and security solutions, along with supporting tools, with the expertise of our strategic partners. We have a structured program that enables players in the ecosystem, from ASIC designers, foundries, IP developers, EDA companies and security experts to all come together to create and deploy solutions throughout the value chain. I’m energized each and every day from the positive feedback and engagement from our current partners and from others interested in joining the program. Given our rich history in technology development, our teams clearly have something special to offer.
Having hypothesized, developed, and managed several partnerships in the past, I strongly believe that partnering within the semiconductor industry is an important trend that will grow in significance over the next several years. Strong, mutually beneficial partnerships are an absolute must to address the growing need for third party IP and the increasingly challenging price, performance, and area requirements associated with the SoCs of today. Combining design services, complementary IP blocks, design and verification tools, and manufacturing in a coordinated and efficient manner can simplify and speed design cycles, decrease costs, and create robust differentiated solutions.
