Linley Fall Processor
October 31, 2018 - November 1, 2018
Join us at Linley where Steven Woo, Vice President of Systems Solutions, will be giving a talk titled “Memory Systems for AI and Leading-Edge Applications,” and Ben Levine, Senior Director of Product Management, will be giving a presentation titled, “Secure Processing After Meltdown and Spectre.” See abstracts below.
Title: Memory Systems for AI and Leading-Edge Applications
Speaker: Steven Woo, Vice President of Systems Solutions
Abstract: AI and other leading applications are achieving higher performance and power-efficiency by utilizing specialized silicon together with well-designed memory systems. Looking forward, power and physical design constraints are becoming more difficult, and are challenging the ability of systems to meet current and future needs. In this talk I’ll discuss the crucial role that memory systems play, and highlight some of the design tradeoffs architects face when developing memory systems to maximize performance and power-efficiency for these applications.
Title: Secure Processing After Meltdown and Spectre
Speaker: Ben Levine, Senior Director of Product Management
Abstract: Meltdown and Spectre exposed severe security flaws in modern processors. Making a highly complex processor, optimized for performance, into a secure processor is very difficult. Instead security-sensitive code should be moved into secure hardware cores siloed away from general purpose processors. These cores can utilize processors optimized for secure operation and can implement a wide range of hardware protection against attacks. We will show an example of a secure core implemented using a custom-designed RISC-V CPU targeted specifically for security.
The Linley Fall Processor Conference will be held on October 31 – November 1, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Santa Clara, CA. This two-day, partially dual-track conference features technical presentations addressing processors for communications, IoT, servers, and advanced automotive systems. This in-depth technical conference is the industry’s premier processor event and we expect a number of new product announcements. In addition to over 20 technical presentations by experts from the companies leading the industry, the two-day conference program will include a keynote session covering technology and market trends in processor design.
The Fall Processor Conference is our largest event and includes dual-track presentations on the latest processor chips, processor IP and other technology required to efficiently process packet, sensor, and vision data.
This conference targets chip designers, system designers, equipment vendors, OEM/ODMs, service providers, press, and the financial community.
