SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES – 06/25/2012 – Rambus Inc. (Nasdaq:RMBS), one of the world’s premier technology licensing companies, announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Dr. Ronald Black as president and chief executive officer. Dr. Black replaces Harold Hughes who announced earlier this year his plans to retire from the position of president and chief executive officer. Mr. Hughes will remain on the Rambus Board of Directors.

Dr. Black has over 20 years of experience managing businesses and running companies in global semiconductor and mobile markets. Prior to Rambus, Dr. Black held positions of chief executive officer for MobiWire, formerly Sagem Wireless, UPEK, which later merged with AuthenTec, and Wavecom, a publicly-traded French wireless solutions company. In addition, Dr. Black has served as executive vice president of the Client Systems Group at Agere Systems as well as holding a number of senior executive roles at other companies, including Motorola and IBM Microelectronics. Dr. Black holds a Bachelor of Science, a Masters of Science, and a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from Cornell University.

Scholarship recognizes students for their passion in science and technology
SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES – 05/23/2012 – Rambus Inc. (Nasdaq:RMBS), one of the world’s premier technology licensing companies, today announced it has awarded its annual “Innovator of the Future” scholarship to Shubha Raghvendra of St. Francis High School and Jamshed Vesuna of Los Altos High School.
Each student has been awarded $10,000 for tuition and books at a college or university. The scholarship money will be distributed in equal increments over four years at the beginning of each academic year. In addition to the scholarship awards, a one-time award of $1,000 will go to each of the four finalists in this year’s scholarship program.

Eligibility for the Rambus Innovator of the Future scholarship award extends to individuals attending a select group of high schools located near the Rambus Sunnyvale headquarters, and graduating before fall 2012 with plans to attend a four-year college or university program of study beginning in fall 2012. Applications for the 2013 Rambus Innovator of the Future scholarships will be available during the 2012-2013 academic year.

Agreement covers Rambus’ patented innovations for edge-lit lighting solutions
