Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP) is a nonprofit organization that provides free repairs to low-income homeowners and community facilities. They rely on volunteer partnerships to rehabilitate homes in the spirit of “neighbor helping neighbor”. Each year on the last Saturday in April, National Rebuilding Day (NRD) unites the largest nationwide group of volunteers to rehabilitate homes and community facilities and revitalize Peninsula communities. NRD is designed to strategically leverage the collaborative support of volunteer groups, financial sponsors, and in-kind donations to deliver major critical repairs. Each site comes with specific needs and its own scope of work.
Rambus has sponsored NRD with funding and volunteers for 19 years! On Saturday, April 30th, the Rambus team of volunteers installed a wheelchair ramp and washroom accessibility features and upgraded the landscaping for Marissa’s home in South San Francisco. The accommodations will support her family of 6, including two family members with physical disabilities.
National Rebuilding Day Attracts Over 600 Volunteers
Saturday’s National Rebuilding Day drew over 600 volunteers across 18 sites, from Pacifica to East Palo Alto. Repairs ranged from painting and landscaping to wheelchair ramp installs, flooring and even roof repairs. Across San Mateo County, we witnessed the impact of volunteerism — nearly two dozen teams helped repair homes, revitalize our communities, and rebuild lives! Rambus is proud to be a part of this annual tradition and give back to its local community.
