NEC Expands Horizons for Super Computing Using Northwest Logic’s HBM2 Controller Core
NEC Corporation recently announced its new high-end SX-Aurora TSUBASA product line that expands the horizons of supercomputing, artificial intelligence and big data analytics. This platform utilizes a Vector Engine which connects to six HBM2 memory systems using the Northwest Logic’s HBM2 Controller Core. The Vector CPU which incorporates the Vector Engine has 307 GFlops performance which is about five times higher performance than previous generations. “We are pleased we were able to meet our performance goals with an efficient gate utilization using Northwest Logic’s HBM2 controller,” said NEC’s Yasushi Kanoh from 3rd Solution Platform Department, IT Platform Division. “NEC’s supercomputing platform is very impressive. eSilicon Tapes Out Deep Learning ASIC Chip with Northwest Logic’s HBM2 Controller Core
Northwest Logic and eSilicon have been collaborating to provide a complete HBM2 supply chain since 2014 and have recently announced a successful production tapeout of a deep learning ASIC. The tapeout marks another significant milestone in eSilicon’s and Northwest Logic’s track record of high-performance chips with a 2.5D/High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM) implementation. Northwest Logic’s MIPI Controllers Now Support Microsemi’s SmartFusion2 SoC FPGA Devices
Northwest Logic now offers its MIPI CSI-2 and DSI/DSI-2 Controller Cores for use in Microsemi’s SmartFusion2 SOC FPGA devices.
