Rambus A19 Lamp Wins Energy Technology ACE Award

Revolutionary lamp, utilizing MicroLens® technology, demonstrates superior energy-efficient innovation for lighting solutions

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — April 07, 2014 — Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ: RMBS) today announced its revolutionary A19 lamp, first introduced in 2013, has been named as winner in the Energy Technology category of the EE Times and EDN 2014 UBM Tech ACE Awards. This lamp, which utilizes Rambus’ patented MicroLens® optical technology, delivers the light output of a traditional incandescent lamp with the energy efficiency, durability and reliability of advanced LED technology. The Rambus MicroLens technology is also utilized in the WaveStream™ line of LED lighting solutions provided byEaton’s Cooper Lighting Division.

Dr. David G. Stork Elected International Society for Optics and Photonics Fellow

Distinguished Rambus research scientist acknowledged for work in pattern recognition, computer vision, joint design of optics and image processing

SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES – 01/24/2012 – Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ:RMBS), one of the world’s premier technology licensing companies, announced today that Dr. David G. Stork has been named a 2012 Fellow of SPIE – the International Society for Optics and Photonics.

“Throughout the course of my career, I’ve been fortunate to conduct research in a wide range of disciplines, including optics, image processing, machine learning, pattern recognition, computer vision, human visual perception and even art history. SPIE has a long history of providing a welcoming environment and resource for such work,” said Dr. David G. Stork. “I’m honored to be recognized by SPIE and look forward to sharing future research on computational imaging through this important organization.”

SPIE Fellows are members of distinction who have made significant scientific and technical contributions in the multidisciplinary fields of optics, photonics and imaging. They are honored for their technical achievement, for their service to the general optics community, and to SPIE in general. More than 950 SPIE members have become Fellows since the Society’s inception in 1955.

Dr. Stork is a renowned expert in optics and the development of algorithms that enable novel sensing, imaging and image analysis techniques. He has published eight books or proceeding volumes on topics such as optics and pattern recognition. In 2011, Dr. Stork joined Rambus as part of Rambus Labs to lead the company’s long-term research in new classes of imaging systems.

Dr. Stork will be recognized and receive a certificate at the Electronics Imaging conference to be held on January 22 – 26 in Burlingame, California. At the conference, Dr. Stork will teach a short course on new methods in computational imaging. In addition, Dr. Stork and colleagues will present a paper on computer vision. Imaging and Optics Expert Dr. David G. Stork Joins Rambus

Industry luminary to lead Rambus Labs initiative in Computational Sensing and Imaging

SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES – 08/04/2011 – Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ:RMBS), one of the world’s premier technology licensing companies, today announced the appointment of David G. Stork, Ph.D., to Rambus Labs where he’ll spearhead the development of the company’s computational sensing and imaging initiative. Dr. Stork is a renowned industry expert in optics and the development of algorithms that enable novel sensing, imaging and image analysis techniques. His honors include being named a Fellow from the International Association for Pattern Recognition.

“With a strong heritage in innovation, Rambus continually strives to develop compelling solutions to important problems,” said Dr. Gary Bronner, vice president of Rambus Labs. “Dr. Stork’s expertise in optics and computational sensing, imaging and pattern recognition makes him an ideal leader for our long term research efforts in imaging systems.”

Over the course of his career, Dr. Stork has held many corporate research and academic positions, resulting in 40 patented inventions and numerous books, journal papers, invited papers and plenary talks in leading journals and conferences. Dr. Stork has also held faculty positions as well as visiting professor and lecturer positions at Boston University, Clark University, Stanford University and Swarthmore College.

Dr. Stork holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Physics from the University of Maryland and a B.S. in Physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also a senior member of the IEEE.
