The Rambus 12A and 3A Voltage Regulators are synchronous step-down DC-DC converters for server SOCAMM2 memory modules. In order to reliably deliver high performance within the desired power envelope, LPDDR5X-based SOCAMM2 utilizes these on-module voltage regulators to convert the input supply voltage to the lower voltages needed by the active components on the module.
The Rambus 12A Voltage Regulator (P2815Gxx) integrates a low on-resistance power MOSFET to achieve high-efficiency delivery of up to 12A output current. It adopts Constant ON Time control architecture to provide fast transient and seamless mode transition for high power efficiency in light load. The device features cycle-by-cycle current limit protection by sensing FETs current. It prevents the device from catastrophic damage in output short circuit situations. Soft-start function is built in the device to prevent inrush current during start-up. The device includes a full range of under-voltage and over-voltage protection features.
