LG Electronics (LGE) has licensed Rambus’ CryptoManager security platform for its next generation of mobile devices. The versatile platform will provide LGE with a robust security solution, which includes a hardware-based root-of-trust for the provisioning of keys to manage sensitive data on mobile devices.
“At LGE, we are committed to ensuring that security is a key component of our industry-leading mobile devices,” said Sang-won Song, VP and head of LGE Mobile SoC Development Department. “With Rambus Cryptography Research team’s advanced security expertise, the CryptoManager platform will help us secure mobile devices and applications throughout their lifecycle, providing critical trust among our customer base.”
The CryptoManager platform, developed by Rambus’ Cryptography Research Division, provides chip and device companies with end-to-end security throughout the design and manufacturing process. By integrating security functionality into the DNA of each connected device through a hardware root-of-trust, the CryptoManager platform enables in-manufacturing and remote in-field feature management.
The platform includes a security core and robust infrastructure suite for the protection, distribution and authorization of cryptographic keys throughout the lifecycle of a device. With this solution, manufacturers can better address advanced device personalization needs while protecting secret keys and sensitive data.
