Rambus has signed both a patent and a technology license agreement with IBM. According to Frank Ferro, senior director of product management at Rambus, the agreement authorizes the integration of Rambus’ memory and serial link interface technologies.

Host card emulation (HCE) mobile payments specialist, Bell ID, today announces that significant recent growth has seen the company strengthen its global position in the mobile payments market. The launch of its HCE and token service provider (TSP) tokenization solutions has further driven team expansion, requiring investment in new, larger offices for its Rotterdam headquarters.
Growth drives expansion
With HCE and tokenization projects in operation in the market, Bell ID has received significant demand for its products from both banks and service providers. The company has seen a 75% growth year-on-year in orders, driven by a substantial rise in the number of new customers, with 90% of all new orders and requests for proposals focusing on mobile solutions.
The expansion of the business has also required growth in team headcount, with additional support added across all areas of the business. In order to accommodate and facilitate this growth, Bell ID has invested in larger office facilities in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Google triggered a year of mobile payments innovation
“Google’s inclusion of HCE in Android KitKat 4.4 kicked off a period of intense activity and innovation in mobile payments,” comments Pat Curran, Executive Chairman of Bell ID. “The payment schemes confirmed support for HCE and payment tokenization with the development of specifications and, in 2014, EMVCo came forward to define the role of the token service provider. And the bar was raised with the launch of Apple Pay. We were ahead of the curve and were among the first to launch a HCE and tokenization mobile payments platform. We are now seeing the benefits of our hard work with many live implementations worldwide today.”

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — March 23, 2015 — Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ:RMBS) today announced it has signed both patent and technology license agreements with IBM. The patent license agreement authorizes IBM to integrate Rambus memory controller and serial link interface technologies. The technology license agreement will have Rambus develop and deliver high-performance memory interface design IP to enhance IBM systems and semiconductor offerings. Specific terms of the agreements are confidential.

Northwest Logic Expresso DMA Bridge Core Shipping in Xilinx KCU105 Evaluation Kit
The Xilinx Kintex UltraScale FPGA KCU105 Evaluation Kit is shipped with a 12 hour hardware time out evaluation netlist for the Northwest Logic PCIe DMA Bridge Core. This hardware time out evaluation netlist allows the customer to use this IP for evaluation purposes, however after 12 hours the core will time out in hardware. This time-out can be reset for another 12 hours by resetting the PCIe bus. Once evaluation of the core provided is complete, Northwest Logic can be contacted to obtain a Full Production license. High-Performance DMA Drivers Support Latest OS

As part of this process, Analyzer RTL is configured for the design rules and coding style checks appropriate to our internal HDL quality standards. Using Analyze RTL enables Northwest Logic to maintain IP core quality from a very early point in our design flow through the final stage of IP Core configuration and customer delivery. Side channel attacks reportedly targeted Trusted Platform Modules
Security analysts reportedly explored how to extract private encryption keys from Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs) by “measuring electromagnetic signals emanating” from the chips. “This is what cryptographers call differential power analysis, a sophisticated side-channel attack in which spies use sensors or other devices to study the power consumption of a chip while it encrypts and decrypts information to extract the keys from it,” writes Motherboard’s Lorenzo Francheschi-Bicchierai.
