Penrillian and Ecebs have clinched an agreement to create a new mobile solution for the transport ticketing market.
In this context, Ecebs is now Penrillian’s preferred Part 11 provider for its white-label Voyager app, which allows users to plan, purchase, download and top up tickets for public transport directly to a smartcard via their mobile device.
“Penrillian has proven to be an excellent partner in terms of its technical ability and professionalism in creating a simple-to-use yet powerful ticketing system for the ever increasing online market,” said Russell McCullagh, Managing Director at Ecebs. “Penrillian [is now part of] our growing Paragon RTD (Remote Ticketing Download) Enabler program.”
According to Penrillian CEO Joanne Thompson, the integration process “was very smooth,” allowing Penrillian to deliver ITSO compliance exceptionally quickly.
“Integration with Ecebs’ RTD enables additional new ticketing opportunities for Penrillian,” she added. “We expect Penrillian to provide Ecebs with the established skills to deliver the mobile ticketing applications that the market needs – both today and in the future.”
Recently acquired by Rambus, Ecebs is a leading supplier of smart transport ticketing systems in the UK. The company has developed software to meet the growing demand for cloud-based, secure ticketing schemes, which opens up lower cost smart ticketing to a wider market.
